I was incredibly honoured to be part of an important and powerful panel discussion at 2024’s BAD Sydney Crime Writers Festival, alongside fellow debut authors Brooke Hardwick and Lisa Kenway, and hosted by the wonderful Claudine Tinellis.
The panel, “Women in Danger,” delved into the alarming reality of domestic violence in Australia—an issue that continues to reach crisis levels. We explored how this very real and deeply disturbing epidemic is reflected in fiction, particularly in our debut novels, and why we, as authors, feel compelled to write about women in peril and the complex dynamics that often exist behind closed doors.
